How much time will I have to spend on the Venture Competition?

It will take about 15-30 minutes to apply, and a few hours to receive mentorship and later pitch in front of investors, throughout the different ronds.

Who will be evaluating my application?

The first selection will be led by Creatella Venture Builder and our partner, EduSpaze. They will go through each application and select 50 of the best startups among the qualifying ones to participate in the competition.

The evaluations across the 3 rounds will be conducted by the jury, composed with seasoned EdTech executives, entrepreneurs, advisors and investors.

What are the evaluation criteria?

The team, problem identification and value proposition, innovation, timing, market opportunity, execution plan and go-to-market strategy, business model viability, investability and pitch quality.

Can I apply to several categories?

Yes, if your startup covers several of them.

What are the rules of the pitch?

Round 1 is an online mentoring round of one or two 30 minutes calls with a mentor each, to help you improve your pitch, share feedback and mentor you regarding your startup. There won’t be any selection at this stage.

Round 2 is an online pitching round, during which you will have two calls of 30 minutes with one jury member each (10 minutes to pitch and 20 minutes of Q&A and feedback). The jury members will be given a one pager summary of your startup, as well as your pitch deck but please pitch as if they didn’t know anything about your startup. The top 10 will be invited to join round 3.

During round 3, you will pitch online in front of jury members and of an audience attending the AWS Public Sector Summit in Singapore (or Online to be confirmed). You will have 5 minutes to pitch and 5 minutes of Q&A.

How many winners will be chosen?

50 startups will be selected to join the first round of mentoring. There won’t be any selection or culling between round 1 and 2.

At the end of round 2, 10 startups will be selected and invited to round 3. One grand prize winner will be chosen by the judges in each category.
